Each year the PWAP team conducts a one week short term mission trip. As with all PWAPs ministries there is no cost to the supporting Church. We believe that part of training teens to serve on mission is to train them on how to generate their own support. Missions are a very important part of the PWAP ministry as it forces our teens and leadership out of their comfort zones and focuses attention on God's plan of fulfilling the "Great Commission". In past years PWAP has worked closely with Native Americans, Hispanics and others, travelling from Eastern Washington to Canada. However, we are open to anything and anywhere God's leads us.

This year 2010 God is sending us to Warden Washington to work beside First Baptist Church of Warden and the community there.

If you think you have a Short Term Mission for PWAP in the future, our requirements are simple.

Requirements

  1. There must be a fertile Mission
  2. The location should be within driving distance of our bus (typically within a days ride).
  3. We must have a supporting Church

Our teens are trained in drama, puppets, mimes, and youth band. They are trained on how to work with children, teens, and adults of all cultures. Our goal to to share to good news of Jesus Christ where ever we go.

1. Fertile Mission Field

A place where people have not found a personnel relationship with Jesus, or simply need to hear of His love (e.g. intercity, First Nations, Hispanic, ...)

2. Close Location

To keep cost down we prefer a location close enough to drive to within one day. (Our team usually about 30+ teens. It's great when we can take our youth overseas but airplane cost limit the number teens we can take and how often we can go. We believe God has given us a huge ministry field right in our back yard)

3. Supporting Church

A supporting Church connection close to the ministry field. This Church would be willing to house us, but not feed us. Pray for us and hopefully to catch the vision of short term or long term missions.

A typical missions week would have our team out canvassing on the weekend, then holding two Hopeclubs a day during the week. A Hopeclub is something like a VBS but it travels to the site of the ministry (i.e. on the reservation, in a park, or in a housing development.) The two hopeclubs each day are at separate sites. Hopeclubs use Puppets, Mimes, Dramas, Games, Snacks, and Music to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

We welcome the supporting church to work with us and even carry on after we leave.
