Probation Policy
If at any time a member fails to cooperate with the leaders or to follow the team policies or behaves in a manner that affects the positive spirit of the team, and refuses to acknowledge and change his/her attitude or behavior when it is brought to his/her attention, he/she will be subject to probation. The probation period will be determined by PWAP senior leadership. If a member is placed on probation and there is no change of heart, the member will be dismissed from the team. PWAP leadership will meet to decide each case when problems occur, with the PWAP Program Director carrying out the decision with the member in question. Probation details will be documented and passed on to other FBC youth program for feedback on youth growth.
Additionally, academics are a key part of any youth’s growth and therefore each youth is expected to maintain a 2.0 average or higher. If a youth’s GPA falls below 2.0 he/she will be placed on probation until the next report card period. If the youth does not show improvement, the youth may be asked to put aside the PWAP team in support of his/her academics.
Dismissal
The PWAP Program Director may ask a team member (Youth or Leadership) to leave the team for any of the following:
- Probation has not corrected behavior.
- Complete lack of respect for leadership or parent.
- Any activity (inside or outside of FBC) that clearly contradicts your witness (e.g., smoking, skipping school, driving without a license, swearing, drugs, stealing, etc).
